About Platypus Cantina

Founded by two dudes named Nick & Wee in 2018.
We founded Platypus Cantina on 4 main philosophies

  1. Serve epic Mexican inspired cuisine and cocktails
  2. Make things affordable so that everyone can have a good time
  3. Work hard to develop new skills while running an SME!
  4. Make great memories with our customers!

Our very first shop was in Katong where we transformed an Asian restaurant which lacked energy into a vibrant Mexican cantina with epic happy hour deals and insane taco Tuesday deals (the best in Singapore).

In 2019, we converted Platypus Kitchen in the heart of Bugis into another Cantina, sadly we were quickly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. In a blink of an eye we lost pretty much everything, with little external support we were able to maintain our katong outlet and even expanded its online reach through our valuable delivery partners.

Launching Platypuscantina.com is a dream come true as we always wanted to deliver our amazing Mexican Cuisine to the rest of Singapore, but have always struggled to due to high rentals and unstable manpower!
